For centuries, Easter and spring have reminded us of this rhythm: the light returns, the earth awakens, seeds break through the soil and everything that once lay hidden slowly returns to the light. It is an invitation to pause, to let go and to begin again — and to experience this together with children and families.

DMooiste and Metaal Kathedraal therefore organise a two-day festival: a place where people, nature and creativity come together to celebrate a new beginning. A place where young families explore, play and learn together, while adults find inspiration and connection.

At Metaal Kathedraal, an ecological breeding ground where old materials receive new life, transformation becomes tangible. Just like nature, this place reminds us that growth and recovery need time, space and care — something children naturally learn through play, wonder and experimentation.

The festival is a living ritual of spring, where symbolism and experience meet through different elements:

• Sowing: workshops and activities plant the first seeds of curiosity, creativity and connection. They transform a simple day out into a personal experience.

• Fire: playful performances and theatre make passion and energy tangible for all ages.

• Water: conversations and shared discovery allow old patterns to flow and create space for new ideas and memories — whether with people you already know or those you meet through a shared interest during the festival.

• Light: every encounter, every smile and every question brings clarity and energy.

• Bloom: children, parents and visitors leave with fresh inspiration, renewed energy and the feeling of growing together.

The festival invites makers, thinkers, parents and children to participate, to create together and to move with the natural rhythm of growth and the freshness of spring. Here, change, awareness and joy arise — not through performance, but through experiencing, playing and germinating together.

Awareness Through the Body from Auroville, two full days in the Netherlands at Metaal Kathedraal! Experience the spirit of education from the international community of Auroville, South India. On Thursday May 14 and Friday May 15, 2026, Metaal Kathedraal hosts a powerful programme with guest teacher Amir Azoulay and Karin van der Plas.

Would you like to help children in education maintain, develop and deepen their body awareness? Join us for two days and experience the power of body awareness and play through the proven ATB method. At the request of many, Amir Azoulay will once again offer this unique training in the Netherlands this year together with ATB expert Karin van der Plas. What does this multi-day training offer? – A body-felt experience of both dynamic and stillness-based tools that you can immediately apply in your work – A handout with background information about ATB & clear descriptions of all exercises (in English) – A certificate (possibly recognised by several professional associations).

We travel to the source of our wisdom, guided by the strength of children as our most precious value.

A “tribal” exchange between the San Tribe and Light Tribe at the Ju/’hoansi-San Living Museum and other villages around Tsumkwe in Namibia. Children exchange knowledge and learn from one another how to enrich their autonomy and awareness by living and working together for a week with wildlife and bush children.

When? Last two weeks of January 2027
Living with Mother Nature. We are guided by both the youngest and the elders of the tribe. Allow yourself to be taken into the world of animal tracks, dancing, singing, gathering food, hunting, building and making tools.

Everyone travels independently to Tsumkwe and the Living Villages. With our own tents, cooking equipment and food supplies we set up our camp. We bring GMO-free food for several villages around the Ju/’Hoansi San Living Museum.

We exchange knowledge with one another about how to tune into the field. Together we bring our perspectives from different viewpoints and cultures.

The children take the lead, together with animal communicators, trackers and medicine people. We support the young people in building infrastructure for the village and learn from indigenous architecture.

Why this journey?
So that children can meet one another, deepen their understanding and develop themselves in practice from their own wisdom, in an environment where we can still live fully self-sufficient without infrastructure and provide everything we need from within ourselves.

Hard to believe, right? That is exactly why we create the opportunity to experience it ourselves.

At the same time we strengthen one another, ensuring that the San continue to believe more than 100% in themselves and no longer glorify the city and the West as the only future.
